Floaterz now released for Windows and WebGL!
'Ello there, people!
redkite here and I'm excited to announce that my first ever published game, Floaterz, is now available here on itch.io. :) I'm not really sure what these devlogs are all about or if anyone even reads those. But I guess if there are people who are curious to hear more about this project, here are some of my thoughts about it:
Why would somebody even make a game about eye floaters?
It's actually quite simple. Everyone has them... but nobody has made a game about them yet... at least as to my knowledge. The idea originally stemmed from a college game/creative jam with the theme of "consistency". I interpreted this word as its synonym, "viscosity", and aimed to create a game with wonky controls and unpredictable movement. The setting of playing as an eye floater, aimlessly drifting through the field of view of a human eye, seemed perfect. And along with the four-player, free-for-all nature, it made for a fun little party game. :)
Any plans or ideas for the future?
Yes and no... I definitely have some fun ideas on how to expand the game a bit. But for now I'm considering the game as published and finished. After working on this game for a while now, I'm looking forward to starting something fresh and new, explore some new ideas and see from there. So unless people REALLY want to see more of this, Floaterz is done! I am considering adding a Mac and Linux build though, if people request so. But most people will probably just play the game in their browsers.
